The latest news from the New York Shock Exchange

Does Gabby know about this? Game one of the Eastern Conference Finals kicked off Sunday night between the Bulls and the Heat. The general consensus was that the series could come down to the Heat's Dwyane Wade and Lebron James versus the Bulls' Derrick Rose. Or would it be the Bulls' team defense versus the Heat's overall star wattage? However, at the 11 minute mark of the second quarter, another person would emerge. Taj Gibson raised up on a Bulls fastbreak . . . Wade challenged and straight-up got "mounted" by Gibson in what has to be the dunk of the play-offs. There are two subplots here: (i) Wade has posterized several dudes in his career but will never live this one down and (ii) what's up will all these NBA players cheating on their girlfriends? Does Gabrielle Union know about this?

Following the money again? Raj Rajaratnam, the billionaire hedge fund titan who built his fortune on a byzantine level of corporate contacts built up over decades, was convicted on all 14 counts of securities fraud and conspiracy in the biggest insider trading case in history. On Wall Street, Rajaratnam is known as the "Tiger Woods" of insider trading >> http://clicky.me/Galleon . The case involved over 40 wiretaps with conversations between the founder of the Galleon Group and his corporate contacts discussing non-public information that Rajaratnam eventually traded on and made millions of dollars off of. The 12 member jury deliberated for nearly two weeks on a case that began in March 2010. This was the first insider-trading case that employed the use of wiretaps previously reserved for organized crime and drug cases. Rajaratnam's legal counsel tried to have the wiretap evidence dismissed but to no avail. The Wall Street Journal quoted juror Carmen Gomez as saying the wiretaps were the deciding factor in the case:

5-6 sophomore, Acquille Carr, is considered in some circles to be the best player in country in the class of 2013. Carr, a Baltimore native, is known throughout the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. He raised his profile when his Patterson H.S. team played in a high school classic at Baruch College during the winter break. I had a chance to see Carr in person as his team was bested by Cardozo in a game that came down to the wire. Carr gave Cardozo fits with this quickness, athleticism and acrobatic shot-making, though his shot selection left a little to be desired. My first thought was "Calvin Murphy" who led the nation in scoring at Niagara back in the late 60's and that's high praise as Murphy also made it to the league at on 5'9".

Years ago when Kobe Bryant was caught up in some drama out in Colorado, he did a press conference with the media to give an update on legal proceedings and reiterate his innocence. During the press conference Kobe made the following statement that seemingly had nothing to do with his "situation" Shaq did [it] too . . . I should have done like Shaq. He's paid over $1 million to women [so they would keep quiet about transactions between consenting adults which we can't mention on this site].
Meanwhile, Shaq and his wife were sitting at home minding their own business and Kobe, like a child, was determined not to take his beating alone and that Shaq was gonna "get his too." Dude broke over 500 codes of the street with comments and O'neal blamed him for the eventual break-up of his marriage.

A few days ago I told my son not to reference on Twitter or Facebook or any other public forum the recent international developments of which we have no pictures of. As you can surmise, Rashard Mendenhall is not my son. Apparel company, Champion, fired the Pittsburgh Steelers running back after he made controversial statements on Twitter about recent developments of which we have no pictures of. Mendenhall came under a firestorm of critism from sports bloggers, media and fans alike over the comments. The Steelers and the NFL have distanced themselves from Mendenhall and he has taken a serious blow to his image. Now it appears the statements have cost him endorsement dollars as well. Earlier in the week the Shock Exchange issued a guide to professional athletes, African American athletes in particular, on how to conduct themselves and protect their paper in the new Internet Age >> http://clicky.me/5DHN . Like my Grandma used to say "Bought sense is the best sense." Rashard is now in expert in PR, but he paid for his expertise. Champion echoed Grandma with the following press release pursuant to its relationship with Mendenhall:

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that after recent reported events of which we do not have pictures of, the U.S. is now under pressure to remove troops from Afghanistan or exit altogether ( http://on.wsj.com/lFYRFf ). Afghan President Hamid Karzai said recent events which occurred in Pakistan and not Afghanistan, vindicated his government's opposition to U.S. combat operations in the Afghan countryside. "Osama was not in Afghanistan: they found him in Pakistan," Karzai said. "The war on terror is not in Afghan villages ... but in safe havens of terrorism outside Afghanistan." Even Taliban opponents are calling for the U.S. exit.

"You put your left foot in, you take your right foot out . . . You do the Hokey Pokey and turn yourself around." No wonder Boston is down 0-2 to the Heat . . . KG out there dancing . . . What next? The Dougie?
