Congratulations to Devon Collier on his commitment to play for coach Craig Robinson at Oregon St.  The 6'8" 220 pound forward from Bronx, NY signed a letter of intent in mid-November.  With his long wing span, Devon plays much bigger than his listed height.  Devon currently laces them up for St. Anthony's High School in Jersey City, NJ, and is consensus 150 prospect.  The power forward is rated No. 79 overall by ESPN.com, No. 134 by Rivals.com and is considered top 100 by Scout.com.  Collier helped lead St. Anthony's to the NJSIAA sectional semi-finals as a junior.  As you recall, at  http://clicky.me/ShockExchangeComesToHarlem09 Collier helped lead his New Heights AAU squad to the 17U Chip. The Shock Exchange Cup is considered one of the most coveted awards in all of sports.  Collier used his length to contest shots and own the boards.  He was also showed exceptional quickness for a kid his size as he got numerous baskets in the open floor.

"Devon is an athletic big man who can play inside and outside and has tremendous potential," head coach Craig Robinson said.  "It's terrific to have a guy of his caliber come across the country to attend Oregon State.  We're excited to have him and think he can do some great things here."  Ebenezer Samuel of the Daily News describes Collier as "a versatile forward who attacks the glass, scores and plays agressive defense."  Keep reading for the video of coach Robinson's reaction to the exciting news.
