PARROTING SHOCK EXCHANGE, SENATOR CHARLES GRASSLEY (R., IOWA) QUERIES AIG DEAL PDF Print E-mail

Senator Charles Grassley (Rep, Iowa) has asked the U.S. pay czar to explain why AIG's general counsel received millions of dollars in severance upon her departure.  Anastasia Kelly, AIG's ex-general counsel, was awarded an exit package of $3.9 million after resigning on December 30th.  In our article titled "Does AIG Have The Government a Lil Bit Pregant?" http://clicky.me/DonMagicJuan , the Shock Exchange shed light on the severance payment and how AIG's posture has changed from one of begging to one of dictating terms.  The Wall Street Journal quoted Sen. Grassley as saying "The taxpayers are fed up with massive payouts to executives at companies that took tax-payer money".  The Journal went on to say that Sen. Grassley called the payout a "windfall".  In a letter to Kenneth Feinberg, the pay czar, Sen. Grassley asked for Ms. kelley's salary history, the formula for the severance, and a copy of AIG's executive severance plan.  For the WSJ article go here:  http://bit.ly/7L9pHB .
