WTW ... TEYANA TAYLOR CHALLENGES THE SHOCK EXCHANGE? PDF Print E-mail

Image Just in ... the Shock Exchange has recently learned that dance sensation and street icon, Teyana Taylor, may have thrown a backhanded challenge its way.  Ms. Taylor was quoted on Global Grind http://bit.ly/c6VN4r as saying "I am the best thing to come out of Harlem since Mase".  As you prolly already know, the Third Annual Shock Exchange Comes to Harlem is taking place April 2-3 at Columbia University.  The event attracts the top basketball players in the tri-state area and it one of the most high profile events in the City.  Shock Exchange Comes to Harlem 2009 featured two McDonald's All-Americans in Doron Lamb and Jayvaughn Pnkston.  And if that wasn't enough cream, SLAM Magazine whose coverage of grassroots basketball is unmatched, will cover this year's event.

At press time an emotional Ralph Baker, Executive Director of the Shock Exchange, had this to say ... "When I read Teyana's comments I was a bit taken aback.  We bring the heat to Harlem every year ... I thought we were the best to come uptown since Shaft.  Admittedly, it's hard to compare us to Teyana given that we flow in two separate lanes.  We are America's favorite investment ballers ... not only do we teach kids competitive basketball skills, but life skills as well.  We are prolly the most sampled, copied travel basketball team in history ... explained here http://clicky.me/FinancialLiteracy .  However, if we were to challenge Ms. Taylor to a dance contest we would get ethered out here.  I won a dance contest in 6th grade (Jimmy Carter was still president), but my skills have somewhat eroded since then.  Overall, I think the results are pretty mixed.  I just wish Ms. Taylor would attend our event April 2-3 at Columbia before she definitively calls herself the best uptown.
