Image Apparently fed up with all of the shots being fired at him recently, Lebron James to took twitter to vent his frustrations and issue the following veiled warning to his detractors:

"Don't think for one min that I haven't been taking mental notes of everyone taking shots at me this summer.  And I mean everyone!"

Charles Barkley then responded to James' tweet and here is my interpretation, sort of the "game within the game", of what Barkley had to say:

I heard about LeBron’s tweet…well I want him to make sure he puts my name on there.
INTERPRETATION:  The competitive fire still burns within Barkley and apparently it can't be satisfied by playing golf with Jordan and Tiger or hamming it up with Kenny and Ernie.  Charles is dying for the chance to slap somebody and not get arrested for it . . . Lebron is as good a candidate any.
His little one hour special was PUNK move. Them dancin’ around on stage was a punk move. If he takes that as criticism, so be it. He knows where I am, I don’t run. I’m on TV every week.
INTERPRETATION:  Lebron's one hour special seemed more like a high school blue chip athlete holding a press conference to announce which college he would be attending the following year. Instead of mimicking immature schoolboys, NBA players should set their own examples.  Charles is simply pointing out what everybody else has been privately thinking - "Lebron's one-hour special was a bit amateurish, so it may be best to make an example of Lebron to deter any other NBA players from having similar ideas.

“He’s got enough people kissing his ass with his family and all the people who work for him,” Barkley said. “We don’t have to tell him what he wants to hear all the time.
INTERPRETATION:  Given the rapid expansion of the NBA, the league is now made up of a (i) few superstars (Lebron, Kobe, Wade, Melo, etc.), (ii) a bunch of role players, and (iii) a lotta dudes "stealing money".  The entire world has been jocking Lebron since he entered the league and it has become a bit nauseating.  Charles' criticism here is genuine in that he is trying to pull Lebron's coattails concerning an important matter . . . the same thing Dr. Jay did for Charles during his early years with the 76'ers.  Lebron can either listen or not . . . his choice, but every NBA legend (Bird, Magic, Jordan, etc.) has had a veteran play give them "real talk" on their journey to Hall of Fame status.
That one-hour special, them jumping around on stage like punks, that wasn’t cool to me.
INTERPRETATION:  Barkley is afraid that the League is being turned over to a bunch of "metrosexuals" . . . dancing around on stage . . . wearing pastel colors, etc.  Sorry Sir Charles, this is just symptomatic of an overall trend of the black community being raised by women.
From a basketball standpoint, I wish he had stayed in Cleveland, and if he takes that as criticism, so be it.”
INTERPRETATION:  With his move to Miami, I think Lebron knows something that the rest of the basketball community doesn't know or doesn't want to acknowledge - the days of going into the draft and acquiring players who can help a team win immediately are gone. Kids entering the draft are nothing more than apprenctices - they need to learn on the job and maybe after two to three years of on the job training they can contribute.  If you want to win a championship, you have to go a team that already has the pieces in place.
