Apple Accelerates Expansion in China With iPhone4 |

With a market capitalization of nearly $300 billion, Apple Computer is the second most valuable company in the United States. Unfortunately for its competitors, Apple's size and market breadth doesn't appear to be abating anytime soon. The scary part is that China, the world's largest consumer market, accounts for a mere 10% of Apple's overall business. With the hot selling iPhone4, the company is looking to grow even further in the region. To address the demands of the Chinese consumer, China Daily reports that Apple will introduce an iPhone4 equipped with receivers for both the CDMA and GSM networks. Wall Street analysts also cite Apple's strategy of expanding its operaters from China Telecom to include China Mobile as well. The company is apparently also stepping up its efforts to combat patent infringement from competitors. As GOOGLE and other U.S. companies have found out, expansion into the region can come with a price. Will we eventually see "iPhone knock-offs" from the competition? Stay tuned.
