HS SOPHOMORE, ACQUILLE CARR, OFFERED $750K PRO CONTRACT PDF Print E-mail
Image 5-6 sophomore, Acquille Carr, is considered in some circles to be the best player in country in the class of 2013.  Carr, a Baltimore native, is known throughout the Baltimore/Washington, D.C.  He raised his profile when his Patterson H.S. team played in a high school classic at Baruch College during the winter break.  I had a chance to see Carr in person as his team was bested by Cardozo in a game that came down to the wire.  Carr gave Cardozo fits with this quickness, athleticism and acrobatic shot-making, though his shot selection left a little to be desired.  My first thought was "Calvin Murphy" who led the nation in scoring at Niagara back in the late 60's and that's high praise as Murphy also made it to the league at on 5'9".

Carr recently led the USA to the gold medal in a Junior International Tournament in Milan, scoring 45 points in one of the games.  In the process he captured the eye of Lottomatica Virtus Roma, the professional team in Rome where Brandon Jennings also played.  They offered Carr a contract worth $750 thousand and could reach upwards of $1 million http://bit.ly/iheg7Y .  Congratulations to Acquille and his family.
