Start of a revolution?
The Shock Exchange has chronicled the stock market and the U.S. economy since 2006.  The slow deterioration in both is what the English would describe as "drip fed."  In the beginning everyone thought we were crazy.  Since, financial literacy has become all the rage, trumpeted by the likes of Presidents Bush and Obama, Goldman Sachs, Warren Buffett and even Tyrese and Quincy Jones.  Over the past 18 months I have been working on a book - Shock Exchange ... How Inner City Kids From Brooklyn Predicted the Great Recession and the Pain Ahead - due out by mid-July.  It chronicles the market and the economy through the eyes of the kids, and our fight to keep the team together amid the cut through New York City grassroots basketball landscape.  And I don't hold anything back either.  In the words of George Orwell, "In a time or deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act."  My high school English teacher, who had edited three books, had this to say about the manuscript:

"This is a huge project. I admire your honesty, your effort and your writing."

The Shock Exchange has been in the forefront of financial literacy for years, which begs the question, "Will Shock Exchange ... How Inner City Kids From Brooklyn Predicted the Great Recession and the Pain Ahead be the revolutionary act that defines the next decade and beyond? And how will the public deal with it ... is America ready for the truth about the financial markets and the 'pain ahead,' admidst the happy talk of politicians and Wall Street prognosticators?" Maybe Jack Nicholson holds the answer to that question, below:
