Mitch Kupchak Face PDF Print E-mail

ImageThe LA Clippers beat the brakes off their hometown rivals, LA Lakers, 142-94. It was the most one-sided loss in Lakers' history. With three minutes left in the third quarter, Blake Griffin threw down an alley-oop from Chris Paul. leaving Lakers GM, Mitch Kupchak, in deep thought. What exactly was Mitch thinking? Here are our top five:

#5 Them Boys (Chris Paul, Blake) Didn't Have to do us Like That

A "no look" alley up during a 4-on-1 fast break, leading by 46 points was a bit much.

#4 Bet Smush Parker is Somewhere Laughing Right Now

Smush Parker played for LA from 2005-2007. Al along Kwame Brown, Smush was one of Kobe Bryant's notorious whipping boys during the post-Shaq era. Yeah Mitch, Smush was in an NYC bar somewhere enjoying this.

#3 If Only Those "Dwight Stay" Billboards Had Been Larger

When former Lakers center Dwight Howard became a free agent last summer, fans placed "Dwight Stay" billboards throughout the city. The ploy didn't work though.

#2 How Can I Call Phil And Still Maintain My Self Respect?

The Lakers fired coach Mike Brown five games into the 2012-2013 season. Reportedly the Lakers told Phil Jackson the job was his to lose. While Phil pondered the position, LA gave the job to Mike D'Antoni. The Lakers have not made the playoffs since.

#1 We Should Have Amnestied Kobe Like Dwight Told Us To

As stipulations for remaining with the Lakers, Dwight Howard demanded that LA amnesty Kobe. Dwight left for Houston and Kobe got a two year $49 million contract extension. Houston is headed to the playoffs, Kobe is injured and the Lakers' immediate future is in doubt.
